Pulmonary text book

A reader asks:
What would you say is the definitive pulmonary textbook that should be in your bookcase?

  1. There are several good ones out there (for those who still read textbooks.) Good general pulmonary texts include: 1) Murry and Nadel (my preference) and 2) Fishman.

  2. In addition to those, I will mention Ron Crystal's The Lung: Scientific Foundations. It is a great 2-volume set on the basic biology, physiology (and pathophys) of the lungs and a great reference book for a solid foundation in pulmonology.

  3. Fraser and Pare's is the most comprehensive as long as I know. Unfortunately it does not include treatment.
