CXR followup after resection

A curious reader from Maine would like to know:
How frequently and for how long, do you follow xray/CT's after the surgical resection of a stage 2 lung cancer.

There is no data on this, nor do the guidelines really address it in detail. The updated ACCP consensus conference guidelines will probably contain a purposely vague statement to the effect of "surveillance with a history, physical exam and 'imaging study' every six months for two years and then annually"

The choice of imaging study was purposely left to the treating physician, and of course follow-up depends upon the suitability of the patient for further therapy.
