Obesity and lung disease

I had posted on obesity and obstructive lung disease but did not get much feedback...
JJ had an interesting aside on BMI progression over time.
Anybody (Lazar?) went to the ATS section on obesity and lung Dz? Any other insight on obstructive ventilatory defects, RAD and obesity?

Not my area of expertise, but you may find the following recent paper of interest:

Eur Respir J. 2006 Mar;27(3):495-503

From the abstract:
"body mass index may influence the natural history of asthma control (as reflected by response to placebo) and may differentially influence response to the two active agents, warranting explicit testing in future prospective studies."

Dear Pulmonary Roundtable,

I enjoyed reading your blogs (especially the obesity related ones), and would like to pass them on to the members of my Obesity help website. I was wondering if you would be willing to exchange links with me? I would also love to post about your obesity related blogs on my messageboard. Please feel free to use any of the obesity related information I have compiled as well. My website is href="http://www.obesitydiscussion.com/">http://www.obesitydiscussion.com

There's a ton of great information on our website including studies on obesity, obesity drugs, nutrition and exercise tips, programs and events, healthy recipes, and most importantly, a wonderful support group.

Sincerely,

Matt Verbin
